​Peoples' Tribunal Judges

Bellur Narayanaswamy Srikrishna (India)
An Indian jurist and a retired judge of the Supreme Court of India. From 1993–98, he headed the "Srikrishna Commission" that investigated causes and apportioned blame for the Bombay Riots of 1992–93. He is currently the chairman of the Financial Sector Legislative Reforms Commission (FSLRC).

Helen Jarvis (Cambodia-Australia)
Dr. Helen Jarvis served as Chief of the Public Affairs Section from the inception of the Court until 1 June 2009, from which time she serves as head of the Victims Support Section until her retirement on 30 June 2010.

Denis Halliday (Ireland)
Denis J. Halliday (born c.1941) was the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Iraq from 1 September 1997 until 1998. He was previously Deputy Resident Representative to Singapore of the United Nations Development Programme. He is Irish and holds an M.A. in Economics, Geography and Public Administration from Trinity College, Dublin. After a 34-year career at the United Nations, where he had reached Assistant Secretary-General level, Halliday resigned in 1998 over the Iraq sanctions, characterizing them as "genocide".

Daniel Feierstein (Argentina)
Daniel Feierstein holds a Ph.D, in Social Sciences by the University of Buenos Aires. He is the Director of the Centre of Genocide Studies at the National University of Tres de Febrero in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Feierstein´s books and articles have been critical in the qualification of the crimes committed in Argentina as genocide, established by 9 different tribunals from 2006 on. Feierstein is the current President of the International Association of Genocide Scholars. Among his most recent books, it is worth to mention “Genocide as a Social Practice. Reorganizing Society under the Nazis and Argentina´s Military Juntas (Rutgers University Press, 2014)” and “Memorias y Representaciones. Sobre la elaboracion del genocidio I” (FCE, 2012).

Shadi Sadr  (Iran)
Shadi Sadr (Persian: شادی صدر‎‎; born 1974) is an Iranian lawyer, Human Rights activist, essayist, journalist, and a women's and LGBT rights advocate. Shadi Sadr is a Founder and Executive Director of Justice for Iran (JFI). She has published and lectured worldwide. She has also served as a judge in the 1965 International Tribunal.

Nursyahbani Katjasungkana (Indonesia)
Nursyahbani Katjasungkana (born 1956) is a feminist lawyer and advocate of women's human rights. In 1995, she founded the Women's Association for Justice (APIK) and established the Women's Legal Aid institution in Jakarta, the members of which were initially recruited from among former clients and survivors and trained as paralegals. During the 1998 reformation, along with several other women activists, Nursyahbani founded the Indonesian Women's Coalition for Justice and Democracy, the first mass-based women's organization in the country since 1965, and was elected its first Secretary General.

Zulaiha Ismal  (Malaysia)

Gill Boheringer (Australia) 
Former Head of Law School, Macquarie University, Sydney Australia, he has also taught and researched in universities of the USA, Northern Ireland, England, Tanzania. He has taught many subjects in law as well as sociology of education, sociology of deviance, anthropology, criminology. Has served as a panel member on the Permanent People’s Tribunal in Cambodia inquiring into the garment industry, in Mexico inquiring into globalization and the social crisis, and Indonesia on the garment industry. Current research includes corporate crime and regulatory capture in the Philippines; alternative justice systems (Kurdistan; Brazil); people’s lawyers and people’s struggles (Turkey and the Philippines); local people’s tribunals and social movements. He has also served as an International Election Observer in the Philippines in 2007, 20010 and 2013.

Doreen Chen (Australia)
LLM (Hons) (Columbia Law); LLB (Hons) and B. Ec. Soc. Sc. (Hons). (University of Sydney)
Doreen is a social changemaker and human rights lawyer. For the past three and a half years, she has served as a senior member of the defence team for Nuon Chea, the highest surviving member of the Khmer Rouge, in his trial on charges of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes at the UN-backed Khmer Rouge tribunal. In this role, Doreen has, among other things, served as principal drafter, as well as lead courtroom counsel for the trial segment on sexual violence. She has also worked for the UN human rights office on developing capacity building programs for the Cambodian justice sector in connection with the Khmer Rouge tribunal. Doreen is the co-founder of the social change organisation Destination Justice, through which she works closely to support persecuted human rights defenders particularly in Southeast Asia. She has also served in leading roles with organisations including Amnesty and Oxfam. Doreen holds an LLM with honours from Columbia Law School specialising in international criminal, humanitarian and human rights law, and dual first class honours degrees in law and government and international relations from the University of Sydney. She is admitted to practice in Australia and Cambodia.
