On November 27, 2024 ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan announced an application for a warrant of arrest for Senior General and Acting President Min Aung Hlaing, Commander-in-Chief of the Myanmar Defence Services for his crimes against humanity of deportation and persecution of the Rohingya.
The warrants are sought for crimes committed during the 2016-2017 waves of violence in Rakhine state of Myanmar/Burma against the Rohingya population. This is a significant step for Justice For All's Bruma Task Force dedicated to challenging the Rohingya Genocide. We welcome this decision by the ICC Prosecutor and will urge our government to support this case. |
Rohingyas and Kachin are indigenous people of Burma facing genocide and crimes against humanity.

1.1 million Rohingyas were forced to flee to neighboring Bangladesh. 129,000 of them have been in a concentration camps since 2012. The UN says that 52% of all women they interviewed were raped by the Burmese military. Rohingyas were alway citizens but in 1982 the military took away their citizenship causing an official apartheid type situation which led to their genocide.
About Us BTF is a coalition of numerous organizations, with the aim of ending the Rohingya genocide and returning citizenship to the stateless.
